About the Role We are seeking an up and coming Payroll Team Leader to join a growing organisation in a newly created position. This role will oversee end-to-end payroll operations while providing guidance and mentorship to a small team. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery across a large workforce, while supporting ongoing system improvements and process efficiencies. This is a permanent, full time role based in Chatswood right by the Metro, and is offering hybrid working. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 3,000 employees on a fortnightly cycle, including mid-cycle runs Supervise and support a team of 4 payroll professionals Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies Act as a key escalation point for complex payroll queries and issues Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting their progression into more senior roles Contribute to payroll system improvements, including involvement in system implementation projects Maintain and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR and Finance About You Minimum 7 years’ experience in payroll, including experience at the Team Leader/Supervisor level Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and support stakeholders at all levels Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members High attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume payroll environments Professional, articulate, and a collaborative team player Technical Skills & Experience Experience with large-scale payroll processing (high volume workforce) Exposure to large payroll systems (experience with system implementations such as Dayforce is advantageous but not essential) Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced), including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables What’s on Offer Permanent, full-time opportunity Competitive salary package Flexible working hours with minimal overtime requirements Hybrid working arrangement Supportive team environment with a focus on development and mentorship Please apply directly through this advert!
