Your impact

As a Planner, Shutdown, you will be responsible for developing and implementing shutdown plans that enable efficient execution and minimal operational downtime. Working closely with operations, maintenance and contractor teams, you will align resources, schedules and scopes of work to ensure shutdown objectives are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational standards.


As part of our team you will

* Plan and scope long- and short-term shutdown maintenance work aligned with operational and maintenance goals
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources and coordinate shutdown activities
* Develop, maintain and update shutdown schedules and supporting documentation
* Monitor shutdown readiness and execution progress, adjusting plans to address emerging issues
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and corporate standards throughout shutdown planning and execution
* Maintain and manage master data, work orders and maintenance history within SAP
* Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services, materials and equipment
* Facilitate shutdown meetings including readiness reviews, schedule updates and execution progress meetings
* Identify and manage risks associated with shutdown activities to minimise operational impact
* Review post-shutdown performance data and support continuous improvement initiatives


Prerequisites for your success in the role

* Minimum 5 years' experience in shutdown planning, maintenance planning or asset management
* Demonstrated experience in mining, heavy industry or manufacturing environments
* Trade qualification or engineering background (desirable)
* Strong understanding of shutdown planning frameworks, stage-gate processes and execution requirements
* Proficiency in SAP for work order management and maintenance history
* Experience using Microsoft Project to build and maintain shutdown schedules
* Ability to develop task lists, bills of materials (BOMs) and manage master data changes
* Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, P&IDs and technical drawings
* Understanding of permit-to-work systems and isolation design
* Experience preparing technical scopes of work and supporting RFQ processes for contractor engagement
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively


Your work environment

This is a permanent, full-time position supporting Newmont's Boddington operation, operating on a Monday to Friday hybrid work arrangement based from Newmont's Subiaco office.

The role follows Newmont's 19-day working month, which includes one designated paid day off per four-week cycle, in addition to annual leave. Flexibility to work from home is supported, with travel to site required as needed to support shutdown planning and execution activities.
