We are seeking an experienced PMO Quality Manager and an experienced Risk Manager to support a major Federal Government technology program in Canberra. These are long-term contract opportunities within a mature program delivery environment where structured governance, assurance and control are critical to success.
Both roles sit within an integrated PMO and will support a complex national program operating in an MSP and PRINCE2-aligned environment. These roles will suit professionals who are confident working across formal governance, executive reporting, assurance activities, risk oversight and program delivery disciplines within government.
Both roles are predominantly onsite in Canberra, ACT. You must hold a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance. You must be located within the Canberra region to perform these roles.
About the opportunity
You will join a high-performing PMO supporting a significant government ICT program with established governance forums, program controls and assurance requirements. The environment is highly structured and best suited to professionals who have worked in large-scale MSP and PRINCE2 delivery settings and understand how to operate effectively across program boards, project managers, assurance stakeholders and senior executives.
Role 1: PMO Quality Manager
As the PMO quality manager, you will lead and coordinate program-level quality and assurance activities across the broader delivery environment. You will work closely with program leadership and assurance stakeholders to maintain quality standards, support independent assurance processes and ensure assurance actions are tracked and progressed.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Leading the coordination of quality and assurance activities across the program
* Managing assurance action tracking, reporting and follow-up with action owners
* Coordinating Gateway Review activities and supporting associated action plans
* Managing engagement with independent assurers and preparing assurance reporting
* Maintaining the quality and assurance plan and promoting consistent quality standards across the program
Role 2: Risk Manager
As the risk manager, you will lead the program's risk and issues function within a complex delivery setting. You will oversee program-level risk and issue management processes, support project teams to identify and manage emerging risks, and provide clear reporting and escalation pathways for leadership.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Managing the program risk and issues register
* Facilitating risk workshops and supporting effective mitigation planning
* Monitoring and escalating key risks and issues to program leadership
* Providing guidance to project managers on risk and issue management approaches
* Preparing regular risk and issues reporting for governance and executive stakeholders
What we are looking for
We are interested in candidates who have worked in large government ICT or digital transformation programs and understand the discipline required in MSP and PRINCE2 program environments. You will bring strong PMO judgement, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work confidently within formal governance structures.
You will be well suited to these roles if you have experience supporting complex programs with structured reporting, assurance, controls and delivery oversight, particularly within Federal Government settings.
