Lasseters Hotel Casino is seeking a proactive and reliable Gardener to join our Grounds and Maintenance team. This role is essential in maintaining the high presentation standards of all outdoor areas, ensuring our gardens, walkways, pool surrounds, and car parks are clean, safe, and visually appealing. With strong attention to detail, physical capability, and a hands-on approach, you will contribute to the overall guest experience and operational success of the venue.
About the Role
* Understand and take ownership of all exterior grounds, pool areas, and car parks
* Maintain paths, gardens, landscaped areas, and common outdoor spaces
* Perform general repairs and maintenance across the property, including basic carpentry, painting, patching, tiling, and plastering
* Inspect and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical fixtures, door hardware, locks, hinges, furniture, and fittings
* Complete preventative maintenance checks and respond to maintenance requests efficiently and within required timeframes
* Conduct routine inspections of buildings, accommodation rooms, public areas, and equipment to identify potential hazards or repair needs
* Operate gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively
* Perform routine grounds duties including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, and irrigation maintenance
* Support the broader Maintenance department where required to ensure seamless operations
What We're Looking For
* Attention to detail and pride in presentation
* Physically fit and able to perform manual outdoor tasks
Experience & Qualifications
* Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate III with two years' on-the-job training, or
* AQF Certificate IV with one year of full-time experience, or
* Three years of skilled work experience without a formal qualification
* Experience in landscaping, gardening, property maintenance, trades, or hospitality grounds roles
