About The Role
The Graduate Geospatial Data Engineer contributes to the success of A&G by assisting with the development of natural peril and geospatial solutions using robust, accurate, and timely data‐driven analysis and insight. This technical role supports the pricing of our insurance products through data analysis, validation, and research of innovative data and methods to price and manage insurance risks.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ELT processes, and data warehouses using BigQuery and GCP.
* Build technical capability in writing and maintaining code for validating, processing, transforming, and storing large datasets from multiple sources.
* Support the optimisation of data processes and validation testing for performance and efficiency under guidance.
* Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of data governance principles, quality checks, error handling, and monitoring to ensure data quality and integrity.
* Collaborate with data analysts, actuaries, and the Senior Data Engineer to understand business data needs and deliver technical solutions.
* Assist in documenting data assets, sources, and their limitations for the Pricing team.
* Assist with technical and geospatial analysis, primarily using GIS software, to support natural peril modelling and resolve specific issues.
* Perform ad‐hoc analysis and investigations related to natural perils and geospatial modelling as requested.
* Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested to meet operational requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
* A degree in data/computer science, engineering, or similar.
* Solution focused with excellent attention to detail.
* Competency in programming languages (Big Query, SQL, Python, R).
* A keen interest and understanding of data modelling, governance, warehousing, and security best practices.
* Self‐motivated and passionate about continuous learning, with a keen interest in data innovation.
Desirable
* Previous academic or project experience with cloud‐based technologies.
* Interest in or exposure to geospatial concepts and software (e.g., QGIS).
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‐functional teams.
