The Ensham operation consists of a highly productive UG bord & pillar mine and an open cut mine that is now a major rehabilitation project, with current production levels of 4 million tonnes per annum. Ensham has been a valued contributor to the Emerald community since 1993.

How you will contribute:
We're seeking a motivated Mine Site Accountant to join our Finance team and support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, proactive cost management, and continuous business improvement across site.
In this role, you'll partner with operational leaders to plan, organise and manage budgeting, forecasting, month-end processes and financial analysis—ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with annual targets.
The role reports to the Finance Superintendent.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Prepare site inputs for monthly accounting process
* Preparation of various site cost reports, cost analysis and provision of proactive cost management support to department managers and superintendents
* Business partner with operational departments, prepare and facilitate departmental cost meetings, and follow up with individuals accountable for cost variances
* Assist with cost reduction, business improvement and other site project activities, including continuous improvement of financial processes and business analysis
* Preparation of inputs for monthly forecasts and annual budgets
* Assist with the preparation of the Monthly Performance Report presentations including associated analysis and commentary
* Assist with the preparation of information required for interim and year end audits
* Assist with stakeholder commercial training
* Assist with capital application support; assist with capital spend forecasting and budgeting; and identifying assets for capitalisation
* Any other work as directed by the Finance Superintendent or Finance Manager
What we're looking for:
To be considered a suitable candidate for this position you will have the following experience and background:
* Minimum 2yrs relevant mine site experience
* Accounting qualification, or working towards (CPA/CA)
* The ability to work autonomously and to deadlines with a high level of attention to detail and time management
* High level of analytical skills
* Proficient in SAP or other ERP and interrogation thereof
* Problem solving focus, strategic approach to design and implementation of processes
The Roster:
The roster for this position is a Monday – Friday 9 day fortnight, Emerald based arrangement.
