About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader to oversee one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs and mental health challenges, and to work with our senior team to roll out practice improvement initiatives. This role is pivotal in fostering a safe, empowering, and person-centred environment where participants can thrive and support workers feel accomplished.

Key responsibilities include:

* Team Leadership: Induct, mentor, and support staff to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed direct support services. Provide ongoing mentorship and supervision.
* Client-Centred Culture: Create a culture where clients are safe and supported to identify and pursue meaningful goals aligned with their aspirations and individual plans.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with families, behaviour support, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and responsive support.
* Direct Support: Provide regular hands-on support and model best practice approaches in behaviour support- and other allied health recommendations.
* Report Writing: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including participant files, incident reports, progress notes, and progress reports for external stakeholders, in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
* Leadership Collaboration: Work in partnership with the leadership team to align service delivery with organisational goals, contribute to strategic planning, and support workforce development.

About you

Qualifications: Qualified with Cert III/IV in Disability or higher strongly preferred. Strong commitment to ongoing professional development.

* Experience: 2-3 years leadership experience in the disability sector and a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience supporting people with disability, mental health conditions, or complex behaviours.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively and adaptively in a dynamic environment. Proficient in written communication and report writing. Comfortable using digital tools and systems (e.g., Microsoft 365) for documentation, communication, and planning.
* Values: Commitment to person-centred practice, dignity of risk, and recovery-oriented approaches.
