Mechanical Engineer
You will be responsible for reverse engineering and designing mechanical equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and client specifications. This includes performing engineering calculations, developing design specifications, and ensuring all designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Candidates must have Australian work rights, or we can sponsor the appropriate visa for the successful applicant.
This position is full-time.
Salary: $90,000 – 98,000
Key Responsibilities:
* Designs, develops, and tests mechanical components, machines, and equipment.
* Analyzes problems to establish design requirements and specifications for mechanical engineering projects.
* Determines design, testing, and manufacturing methods for mechanical equipment for new products or revisions.
* Prepares specifications to satisfy customer requirements and coordinates with other departments to ensure all specifications are consistent with project goals.
* Develops detailed cost estimates of each project based on time studies, materials costs, and labor rates in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
* Reviews designs, specifications, and project plans to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Serves as a technical resource to clients and provides product support or guidance to the manufacturing department.
* Recommends methods and systems for improving productivity and efficiency of mechanical engineering activities.
* Works across multidisciplinary engineering areas, including Structural, Civil, Piping, and Mechanical, within the scope of mechanical engineering responsibilities.
* Integrates safety principles into all engineering activities and leads by example in adhering to safety procedures.
Key Attributes:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical engineering.
* Working knowledge of Structural engineering or Trade qualifications is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of engineering software and analysis packages (e.g., FEA, Scene, DEM, Reverse Engineering) is beneficial but not essential.
* Confidence to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
