Overview

Permanent full-time Deputy Principal position at Karratha Primary School, commencing Term 3, 2026. The school values care, personal best, responsibility, diversity and inclusivity, and belonging. It serves approximately 280 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and supports staff through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.

Role and Responsibilities

* Lead as a Deputy Principal in collaboration with the Principal and administrative team to shape the school\'s identity, values, ethos and priorities.
* Foster a collaborative culture by engaging staff, volunteers and community members in shared ownership of the school\'s vision and goals.
* Lead change management initiatives and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
* Oversee school operations, contribute to the School Plan, develop policies and establish systems aligned with school objectives.
* Provide strategic direction for staff and promote a culture of continuous professional improvement; manage day-to-day staff and student well-being and potentially timetabling responsibilities.
* Participate in coaching and professional development initiatives, including trauma-informed practices and the Berry Street Education Model, to support inclusive learning.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership across diverse educational settings.
* Strong interpersonal and public relations skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and achieve outcomes.
* Professional knowledge applicable to achieving high educational outcomes for all students, including Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs.
* Ability to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
* Eligibility to work in Australia or New Zealand, or with a valid visa and work rights for the term of appointment; Working With Children Check before start.
