Job Opportunity: Environmental Health Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated and community-minded individual to join our team as an Aboriginal Cadet Environmental Health Officer.
This is a unique opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants to gain hands-on experience, develop the skills needed to become a qualified Environmental Health Officer, and contribute to vital services that protect the community's health and safety.
The role involves assisting with inspections of food businesses, public swimming pools, spas, cooling towers, caravan parks, and skin penetration premises.
You will also support the team on development applications and environmental assessments, help respond to community requests about air, noise, water, contaminated land, and waste issues, participate in health promotion activities and local community events, and learn how to maintain accurate records and write basic reports.
Requirements
* Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
* Be a good communicator, a reliable team player, and someone who is organized and comfortable working both indoors and out in the field.
* Be eligible for, and committed to, completing a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University.
