Headspace Bunbury
Over the last 70 years Relationships Australia WA has been providing relationship support services for individual, couples, families and communities. We are a team of professional and highly motivated staff who are committed to enhancing the lives of communities, families and individuals and supporting positive and respectful relationships.
About the role
We are offering a permanent role of Vocational Specialist in the Individual Placement Support Program (IPS) team at our headspace Bunbury office. The current vacancy is 4 days per week.
The Vocational Worker will provide specialised vocational services to young people who are referred for employment and education support as part of their care at headspace.
The Vocational Worker will work in conjunction with other staff to support young people to gain employment or to enroll and/or continue further education. Additionally, they will liaise with local employers, training agencies, education providers and health professionals to ensure ease of access and smooth transition across a range of employment and educational opportunities for young people. This will involve assertive outreach work combined with excellent youth engagement skills to ensure young people are well supported and are linked to suitable employment opportunities.
The incumbent will require knowledge and expertise in the employment sector, combined with understanding, skills and interest in the youth mental health field.
The overall aims of vocational interventions for young people seen by the Vocational Worker are to minimise the impact of their mental health issue on the normal developmental trajectory and to enable recovery from their mental health issue.
