The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Procurement Officer to join the Procurement & Corporate Services Team in partnering with business areas to procure goods and services for the Agency, with a focus on applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
12‑month initial Labour Hire contract with the view for extension. APS4 level role offering an hourly rate between + Super. This position will be based out of Geelong.
This is a hybrid position, offering 2 days working from home with the remaining 3 on site. Standard work weeks, with an average of 8 hours per day.
About the role:
The APS4 Procurement is responsible for providing advice, support and research services to the Procurement and Corporate Services Branch. The position will support the Procurement team to deliver quality procurement outcomes, which are compliant with legislation and ensure value for money.
As an APS4, your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining a practical understanding of procurement and contracting functions and applying relevant legislative and policy guidance
* Undertaking research and analysis activities and drafting initial documentation to support simple to complex procurements
* Providing administrative support to the Procurement team
* Initiating drafting of procurement related documentation
* Entering, extracting and manipulating data to enable accurate Agency reporting
* Contributing to team planning activities and identifying opportunities for improvements

* Well‑developed critical thinking skills
* Knowledge of SAP ESSentials or SAP GUI highly regarded
* Ability to visualise data
