About the Role:
As an APS4 Level Policy Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation and refinement of policies that enhance the well-being of Australians. Your responsibilities will include:
Analyzing policy documents, reports, and relevant materials to provide comprehensive insights.
Collaborating with stakeholders to gather input and ensure effective policy execution.
Participating in the creation of briefings, reports, and materials for decision-making.
Contributing to the development of policy strategies and recommendations.
Conducting research to inform policy design and identify best practices.
Monitoring policy outcomes and suggesting adjustments based on evaluations.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and communication.
Analytical and critical thinking abilities to synthesize information from various sources.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Previous experience in policy analysis, development, or implementation is advantageous.
A relevant qualification in public policy, social sciences, or a related field is desirable.
Familiarity with research methodologies and data interpretation is a plus.
Desirable criteria:
Relevant social sciences undergraduate or postgraduate qualification (e.g. political science, public policy, economics, sociology, communications) and familiarity with key concepts in qualitative research
Experience working or studying in an interdisciplinary context, demonstrating the ability to acquire working knowledge of complex concepts from fields such as statistics, econometrics and health economics
Demonstrated understanding of current policy trends and debates relevant to the disability sector, the NDIS and/or social policy in Australia.
