About the role
Go Kart Action is looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to join our team in Mareeba, QLD. We currently have two casual short-term opportunities available, both finishing at the end of January after the busy school holiday period:

1. Go Kart Track Marshall (Casual – Immediate Start until End of January)
As a Track Marshall, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our go-kart racing track. With a focus on customer service and safety, this position is perfect for those with a love for motorsports and a desire to provide an exceptional experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Monitoring and controlling the go-kart racing track to ensure the safety of all drivers and spectators
* Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the go-karts and racing equipment
* Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service to all visitors
* Enforcing track rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment
* Reporting any incidents or issues to the management team
* Participating in regular safety and training sessions
* Assisting customers on track (requires some physical strength)
* Working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* General cleaning and facility maintenance during quieter periods
* Ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a customer service or amusement-related role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety
* Flexible and able to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
* A valid driver's licence
* First Aid and CPR certificate (preferred). If you don't have one, we are happy to organise this for the successful candidate.
* General understanding of mechanical vehicles (not essential, but willingness to learn is important)
* Willingness to undergo training in our important safety processes
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
* Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging customers
* Fit, healthy, and able to move quickly
* Reliable, organised, and well-presented
* Positive and hard-working attitude
* Shows initiative and attention to detail
* Flexibility to assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks when needed

2. Garden Maintenance Role (Immediate Start – Short Term until End of January)
We are also seeking experienced individuals for a short-term Garden & Grounds Maintenance position, starting immediately and finishing at the end of January after the busy school holiday period.
What you'll be doing
* Weeding and spraying
* Mowing and pruning
* Whipper snipping
* General yard duties across a 38-acre property that requires consistent upkeep
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in garden/property maintenance
* Physically fit and able to manage outdoor work in varying conditions
* Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
* Attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, safe, and tidy grounds
