We are seeking a seasoned security expert to join our team as a lead ICT Security Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for exercising independent judgment and performing a subject matter expert role in ICT security.


Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex problem-solving and issues management, coordinating and performing detailed or sensitive projects that impact strategic, political, or operational outcomes. As a lead ICT Security Specialist, you will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.


Responsibilities

* You will be accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work priorities, and managing workflows to ensure accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements.
* You will be responsible for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, sharing your expertise with others and guiding and mentoring less experienced employees.
* You will lead the development and implementation of strategies and evaluate business outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of ICT security.
* You will deliver risk assessments, business impact analysis, and assurance for information systems within the organization.
* You will analyse security risks and business impacts and provide guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks.
* You will maintain knowledge, skills, and experience of general security issues and apply them to IT security risk analysis.
* You will communicate risks of a complex nature to managers and other peers.
* You will engage with internal and external stakeholders from other technical specialties to share and develop ICT security policy.
* You will identify areas of risk and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the Australian Signals Directorate's approach to risk in the use of ICT.
* You will assess and resolve identified security incidents in accordance with established procedures and recommend any required actions or policy amendments.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* Certification as an Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) Assessor.
* At least 3 years' experience as a security specialist working across security architecture, security and risk management, communication and network security or security operations domains.
* Experience ensuring technical systems adhere to Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF frameworks.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A proven record of building, managing, and enhancing relationships with stakeholders.
* Experience developing, managing, and implementing SOPs and procedures in support of security accreditation frameworks.


Desirable Criteria

Prior experience in a related field would be beneficial, particularly in:

* Problem management, including initiating and monitoring actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes, and services.
