Job Description
The role of a Network Operations Specialist is to play a critical part in managing and coordinating traffic flow, redirecting vehicles and ensuring the safe passage of people.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues and emergency services to respond to incidents and contain them. Your analytical mind will enable you to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and managing traffic on both open roads and tunnels using various control systems.
* Developing an in-depth knowledge of automated systems, such as Height Detectors, Road Management systems, CCTV and Automatic Incident Detection Systems.
* Collating real-time information on road conditions for stakeholders, the media and customers.
* Understanding the importance of rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices and procedures, including operational systems.
* Working across multiple assets as needed to meet business requirements.

* Experience working in a monitoring centre or operational environment.
* Strong computer skills and analytical abilities, with a fascination for new technology and systems.
* Drive, resilience and efficiency, combined with confidence and professionalism in challenging situations.
* Organisation, prioritisation and decision-making skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
