Position Summary
The Senior Director, Denials plays a key leadership role within the Revenue Services Department, overseeing daily operations and strategic growth. This role involves providing leadership, supervision, and coaching to team leaders, developing and maintaining denials/appeals management programs for all payer types, and acting as a subject matter expert in Denials. The Senior Director will evaluate and develop strategic and operational initiatives to enhance the company's competitive edge, improve departmental processes, and ensure operational efficiency, financial stability, and growth. Responsibilities include managing multiple client projects, forecasting revenue, managing risk, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for high client satisfaction and revenue maximization. The role requires effective project management, resource allocation, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a subject matter expert in EnableComp Denials products.
* Research product opportunities for efficacy and profitability.
* Develop innovative products to increase industry competitiveness and profitability.
* Lead during new product implementations.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities.
* Assist in shaping the department’s business strategy with senior leadership.
* Create and manage training materials to support growth and best practices.
* Lead product implementation efforts, process improvements, and operational enhancements.
* Define and improve processes related to denial inventory, performance management, and reporting.
* Manage a team of CC Project Coordinators, including hiring and staffing.
* Collaborate with Analytics for data integrity and revenue opportunities.
* Support client onboarding and implementation projects.
* Coordinate with internal teams to define project requirements and scope.
* Manage escalated issues, communicate resolutions, and maintain client relationships.
* Oversee client project dashboards, issue resolution, and performance reviews.
* Conduct regular client and business reviews to ensure satisfaction and growth.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
* 10+ years’ management or supervisory experience.
* 8+ years’ experience in healthcare operations.
* 7+ years’ client-facing/customer service experience.
* Understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing.
* Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
* Strong process analysis, interdepartmental collaboration, and resource management skills.
* Experience managing multiple teams and strategic goals.
* Knowledge of compliance, HIPAA regulations, and audit processes.
* Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and MS Office applications.
* Regular and predictable attendance; willingness to travel 10-15%.
