The Company
We are partnering with a large, complex ANZ business to appoint an interim Deputy Financial Controller to support the Financial Controller and strengthen the financial control framework across the region. This is a high-impact leadership role within a sizeable finance function offering genuine scope to influence process, controls and team capability.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will take ownership across core financial control, statutory reporting, tax compliance, treasury oversight and transactional services leadership.
The business is currently strengthening its control environment and simplifying processes, this appointment will be central to that journey. This is not a pure reporting role. It requires someone visible, energetic and confident to drive accountability across the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
* Own balance sheet governance and reconciliation integrity.
* Manage statutory reporting and external audit process.
* Oversee tax compliance (income tax, GST, payroll tax).
* Manage treasury operations, banking relationships and cash forecasting.
* Drive financial controls and compliance framework improvements.
* Lead AP & AR oversight (via team leaders).
* Develop a team of 5–6 direct reports.
About You
* CA / CPA qualified (Big 4 background strongly preferred).
* Strong financial control and statutory reporting experience.
* Experience coordinating external audits.
* Solid tax and balance sheet governance knowledge.
* Proven ability to lead and uplift teams.
* Process improvement mindset.
This role would suit a high-performing Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager ready to step into a broader controllership remit.
