Join Suncorp Group as an On‐Road Assessor and play a critical role in supporting customers through recovery from property loss or damage. You'll be on the front line, delivering expert assessments, clear guidance, and genuine care, helping customers move forward with confidence.
About The Role
As an On‐Road Assessor, you will assess property damage, determine claim liability, scope, and quantum, and ensure claims are managed in line with relevant policy, legislative requirements, and service standards. Work closely with Claims Managers, repairers, suppliers, and stakeholders. Provide expert advice, resolve issues, and keep customers informed throughout the claim journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct on‐site, virtual, and desktop property assessments with customers or panel repairers.
* Determine, review, accept, or decline scopes of work to ensure appropriate, cost‐effective, and high‐quality repairs.
* Communicate clear, timely, and accurate claim advice to customers, next steps, timeframes, and progress.
* Support Claims Managers in resolving complex customer issues and identifying vulnerable customers.
* Accurately assess property loss or damage, documenting all decisions, evidence, and outcomes in written reports.
* Drive cost‐focused outcomes, ensuring repair quality assurance and continuous improvement.
* Identify and manage risks, escalating potential fraud concerns, and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
* Provide feedback on repairer performance and suggest process or service improvements to enhance outcomes.
About You
You're a confident decision‐maker who balances technical expertise with a strong customer focus. Organized, resilient, and comfortable working independently in a fast‐paced environment.
Mandatory Qualifications
* Trade qualifications or formal qualifications in building or allied trades.
Desired Qualifications
* Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent.
* Diploma Loss Adjusting.
* Qualified trade within the building industry.
* Previous assessing/supervision/construction experience.
* Ability to assess claims across Queensland, which may involve frequent travel.
* Exceptionally strong customer skills, managing expectations effectively via face‐to‐face and phone.
* Extensive insurance or property claim industry experience.
* Strong written skills, able to write detailed assessment reports.
