About Us

The purpose of Melbourne Business School (MBS) Ltd is to unleash ideas and leaders for a sustainable future. The School's strategic vision is to be among the top-ranked providers of business education within the Asia-Pacific Region, to be the first choice of students and clients seeking award and non-award educational experiences, and to be esteemed globally as a leading supplier of academic and business research.

The School has established the Institute for Digital Innovation and AI (IDIA) to support Australian and global organisations in navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of digital technologies, AI adoption, automation, digital innovation, and data-driven decision making. The Institute will focus on creating real-world impact through upskilling executives, applied research in these areas, and strategic partnerships that enable senior leaders to make more confident, future-ready decisions.

The Opportunity

The Director of Strategic Partnerships will play a critical role in establishing and growing the new Institute. This role is responsible for developing and executing a strategic engagement plan to secure high-impact partnerships across industry, government, and academia. Working closely with the Director, the role will drive business development, assist in designing programs, support research translation, and amplify the visibility and influence of the Institute.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, and will be best suited to a highly motivated, entrepreneurial leader who thrives on building initiatives from the ground up, fostering innovation, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment.

About you

Strategic in mind-set, you will bring to MBS demonstrated experience in developing strategic partnerships with clients across sectors and a successful track record of building new initiatives, business development, or fundraising from concept to execution. You will also have a deep appreciation for, and understanding of, how academic, public, and private sector ecosystems intersect. Your strong commercial acumen, superior stakeholder engagement, and relationship building capabilities will be critical to your success in this role. Your extensive experience will be complemented by both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in a relevant field.

• Competitive remuneration, including not-for-profit salary packaging options and generous parental leave provisions

• Flexible work options

• Free gym membership, health and wellbeing programs and regular social events
