Job Description
Our client is seeking multiple UX/UI Designers responsible for team leadership and management, including setting priorities and managing workflows. The role requires autonomy and accountability to exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting legislation and policies to achieve outcomes.
As a UX/UI Designer, you will provide technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice on complex problems. The role may also involve strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development to enhance service delivery to Australians in need.
The position involves significant public contact concerning complex or sensitive issues and requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the department.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Gather and evaluate user requirements collaboratively with product and business owners.
* Conduct engagement activities to co-design project outcomes, including process, system, and information changes.
* Illustrate concepts via storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
* Design wireframes and prototypes (low and high fidelity for mobile and web).
* Conduct user research and usability testing.
* Facilitate co-design workshops with stakeholders.
* Analyze data requirements with business analysts.
* Secure stakeholder approval for requirements.
* Support project documentation, including requirements specifications and service design artifacts.
* Assist in designing and implementing an NDIA design system.
* Produce deliverables aligned with project schedules.

Technical skills
The role requires strong skills in user-centered and accessible design, proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch, and knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Experience translating research into effective design solutions is essential. Candidates must hold an Australian Citizen with AGSVA clearance.
