About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Maintenance Officer for our Seniors Living Independent Living Units in Mercy Place Rice Village (Geelong).
The role reports to the Retirement Village Manager and involves ongoing repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment, furniture, and health & safety.
Responsibilities3nMaintain grounds and perform ongoing repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment, and furniture.
Liaise with contractors and coordinate maintenance tasks.
Identify and report areas for improvement.
Assist with identifying and actioning health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
Qualifications and Experience
Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
A compassionate, flexible and positive approach.
Capacity to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Previous maintenance experience – trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential.
Previous experience in aged care or hotel environment advantageous.
Ability to work independently and as part of the local team.
Proficient computer skills; experience with a computer-based maintenance system advantageous.
Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks for residential aged care and seniors independent living units.
Experience in managing contractors, WHS/OH&S compliance, site inductions, understanding of HVAC, essential services, building regulations, etc.
Required Evidence
Current Police Record Check.
Trade based qualification or more than 3 years' experience in a commercial maintenance position.
Current driver's licence.
