This position has responsibility to support the success and academic engagement of students across years 7‑12 in the College. Our College has a Junior School and a Secondary School all operating on one campus. This Head of Department (Mathematics) position is for the secondary school where the curriculum focus is implementing the Australian Curriculum (7‑10) and QCE and Vocational Education (11‑12). The Head of Department - Mathematics will be a valuable member of a College Leadership Team focussed on our school strategic priorities of improvement in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Culture of Learning. The Head of Department, Mathematics will be line managed and supported by the Deputy Principal Senior Learners. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Initiatives, support and intervention to support mathematical outcomes for students in years 7‑12.
* Provision of a quality assured and aligned AC v9.0 curriculum across years 7‑10.
* Monitor student learning progression, with relevant staff, to ensure the reliability and validity of mathematics curriculum, assessment, moderation and reporting.
* Work with beginning and experienced mathematics teachers to ensure quality pedagogical approaches to learning are implemented.
* Facilitate the QCAA processes, in concert with the DP Senior Learners to ensure QCAA requirements are met with respect to student curriculum and assessment.
* Determine and implement actions for at‑risk math students through data analysis at key junctures, and develop intervention strategies.
* Commit to creating a school‑wide culture of learning and engagement that is responsive to the provision of quality outcomes for every student.
