Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation technician, ideally with previous field experience for the positon of Field Service Technician..
You will be requried to maintain service delivery within the various instrumentation networks. This includes:
- Doppler Rain Radars
- Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
- Upper-Air monitoring systems (Sounding Balloons)
- Flood warning / rainfall monitoring systems
- Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
1. Assist in the development and actively support the delivery of assigned work package activities, project work and site support activities assigned to you and your team.
2. Undertake routine and detailed operational diagnostics, fault finding
3. Undertake moderately complex site selection inspection and evaluation for operational equipment and systems.
4. Undertake support and evaluation of site equipment, infrastructure, instrumentation and maintain documentation and records.
5. Undertake routine data quality management tasks, monitor network outputs and take or recommend corrective actions as required.
6. Supervise, manage and develop staff in your line of responsibility.
7. Travel away from home base, by air, sea and road will be required to support network operations.
8. Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders at the appropriate level.
9. Comply with all work, health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory qualifications/experience:
- A Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) electronics or electrical preferred from an Australian
educational institution, OR
- A comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties, OR
- Relevant experience and training, which enables the employee to competently perform the
duties at this level, OR
- Other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties
