**Position Information**:
Asquith Boys High School is a comprehensive high school in the northern suburbs of Sydney. The school caters exclusively for the educational and welfare needs of boys, attracting students from a wide drawing area who are seeking a single-sex education. The school's mission is to provide 'exceptional learning opportunities for boys' and specialises in the areas of technology, creative arts, sport, and citizenship. In recent years Asquith Boys High School has consolidated its reputation as a leader in boys' education with many of the school's successful programs being emulated at other schools. **Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Approval to teach English 7-10 and English 11-12, inlcuding extension 1 and 2 courses.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead the planning, delivery and assessment of high quality learning experiences for boys resulting in improved student outcomes.
3. Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build the capacity of staff and enhance the engagement and wellbeing of students.
4. Capacity to work as a collaborative and innovative member of the executive team to implement the school strategic plan.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
