Qualified Butcher / Meat Manager
In-Store Butchery – Retail Supermarket
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Butcher / Meat Manager to lead our in-store butchery department and deliver high-quality products and service to our customers.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the daily operation of the meat department, ensuring excellent presentation, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
Hours: 45 hours per week
Remuneration: $72,000 per annum to $75,000 per annum + superannuation
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the in-store butchery
* Prepare, cut, and present meat products to a high standard
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations
* Manage stock levels, ordering, waste control, and pricing
* Lead, train, and supervise butchery staff
* Deliver excellent customer service and product knowledge
* Maintain clean, well-presented work and display areas
About You
* Trade qualified butcher (essential)
* Previous experience as a butcher in a retail supermarket environment
* Proven ability to manage or supervise a team
* Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
* Reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Passion for quality meat, presentation, and customer service
