Substance Use Disorder Counsellor Role
We are seeking an experienced Substance Use Disorder Counsellor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
* Provide individual, group, and family counselling to address substance-related issues using evidence-based practices.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs related to substance use, including history, mental health, psychosocial needs, and risk factors, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
* Manage a caseload of clients, providing support, coordinating services and advocating for their needs.
* Collaborate with other professionals, such as medical staff, social workers, and other community programs, to provide comprehensive care.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to assess situations, identify problems, and develop creative solutions.
* Knowledge and understanding of AOD issues.
* A high level of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information.
