KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS
The successful candidate will bring strong technical capability and industry experience in renewable energy project delivery.
Technical Requirements
* Minimum 6+ years' experience in the renewable energy sector (consulting experience preferred but not essential)
* Chartered status or progressing toward professional accreditation (e.g., CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent)
Engineering Capability
* Strong experience in electrical design and engineering calculations, including:
* Voltage drop and rise calculations
* Fault current analysis
* AC and DC cable sizing
* Balance-of-Plant (BoP) design and equipment selection
* Experience performing fault analysis, relay coordination, and protection settings for large-scale renewable projects
* Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and grid compliance requirements
Software & Technical Tools
Experience with industry-standard engineering software such as:
* AutoCAD (design drawings for PV and electrical systems)
* Elek Cable Pro or equivalent engineering calculation software
Experience with SCADA and control systems will be considered advantageous.
Grid Connection & Power Systems
* Strong understanding of grid connection processes across the NEM, Northern Territory, and Western Australia
* Ability to manage and lead grid connection applications
* Capability to review and interpret R0–R2 power system modelling studies
* Experience engaging with DNSPs and AEMO in technical discussions
Project Delivery
* Experience delivering utility-scale solar, BESS, or hybrid energy projects (1 MW+)
* Ability to work effectively within EPC, consulting, or project development environments
* Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, OEMs, and project developers
Professional Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify project opportunities
* Experience supporting tenders, proposals, and business development activities
* Ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across renewable energy projects
