About the Role
DFP Recruitment is partnering with a South Australian Government agency to source experienced Government Relations Advisers for a short‐term contract within a fast‐paced policy and corporate services environment. This role is suited to candidates with strong parliamentary and ministerial experience, particularly in drafting high‐quality briefs and correspondence for senior government stakeholders.
You will provide timely, professional and high‐quality support to Ministers, Ministers' Offices and senior executives through the preparation of complex written materials and advice.
The role plays a key part in managing organisational risk and ensuring correspondence aligns with government direction, legislative requirements and integrity standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare high‐quality Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary briefing notes and correspondence
* Research, analyse and interpret complex information to develop accurate written and verbal advice
* Respond to sensitive enquiries from Ministers' Offices and government stakeholders
* Provide advice on government, Cabinet and parliamentary protocols
* Maintain accurate records and systems for Ministerial and Parliamentary documentation
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal executives and external government stakeholders
* Ensure all work complies with legislative, regulatory and ethical frameworks
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
* Proven experience working with Parliament and/or Ministers' Offices
* Strong working knowledge of state government, Cabinet and parliamentary processes
* Extensive experience authoring complex briefs and correspondence with minimal direction
* Exceptional written communication and attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing deadlines in a high‐pressure environment
* Tertiary qualifications in policy, communications or a related discipline (or extensive equivalent experience)
