The Opportunity
About The Role
As our Senior Director of Communications and Engagement, you will:
* Lead communication and engagement activities for the department, including traditional, social, and digital media, web, marketing, sponsorship, multimedia services, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications to uphold the department's purpose, objectives, narrative, and brand.
* Analyze and interpret complex and sensitive information to anticipate, identify, and manage reputational, community, and stakeholder relations risks, escalating issues as necessary.
* Lead crisis communication responses and issues management for the department.
* Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to enhance communication activities and foster collaboration across the food and fibre supply chain.
* Promote continuous improvement by analyzing projects and exploring innovative ways to improve outcomes, ensuring adherence to governance practices.
* Build and maintain trust with the DPI Leadership Board, senior leaders, and the Minister's Office by providing expert strategic communication, engagement, and marketing advice.
* Facilitate collaboration and agility across communication and engagement activities within the department and with other Queensland Government agencies to achieve strategic outcomes.
* Drive a culture of performance excellence by sharing best practices and providing leadership through mentoring, coaching, and capability development.
* Contribute as an active member of the Corporate Leadership Team, participating in strategic and operational planning, human resource management, and financial oversight.
This role reports directly to the Deputy Director-General of Corporate and includes direct reports.
