Since 1985, Synchrotech has been designing and manufacturing customised generator and power control systems for critical infrastructure across Australia. From our purpose-built facility in Brisbane's north, we engineer, fabricate and test complete turnkey power systems used in mining, oil & gas, defence, utilities and industrial facilities.
Our projects range from mobile generator packages to multi-megawatt gas power stations, including fuel systems, ventilation systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems and other complex mechanical equipment.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team and develop their engineering career working on real industrial projects from design through to commissioning.
The Role
This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career mechanical engineers looking to build practical engineering experience in a hands‐on environment.
Working alongside experienced engineers and our workshop fabrication team, you will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of engineered power systems — from concept design through to factory testing and installation.
This role is based at our Northgate engineering and manufacturing facility, allowing you to work closely with the technicians and tradespeople building the equipment you help design.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with the design of generator packages and auxiliary mechanical systems

* Supporting drawing revisions and document control
* Participating in design reviews and safety-in-design processes
* Assisting with component selection and procurement
* Liaising with suppliers to confirm specifications and availability
Workshop & Testing Support
* Working closely with our fabrication and assembly teams
* Assisting with factory testing and commissioning documentation
* Supporting troubleshooting and performance verification of completed systems
You will develop experience in areas including fuel systems, ventilation systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems and industrial generator packaging.
