Palliative care is a medical specialty that focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. As a clinical nurse consultant in palliative care, you will work with patients who are experiencing complex and life-limiting illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced and senior palliative care clinical practice to patients in acute-based settings
- Work within an interdisciplinary team context, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Enhance the team's capacity to work in shared care situations while providing clinical leadership, education, and support to colleagues and generalist staff
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced nursing qualification (Master's degree or equivalent) in palliative care or a related field
- Proven experience in palliative care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
