**The Client & Role**:
We are currently working with a major utilities organisation, they are currently looking for a Network & Telephony Lead to join the organisation assisting with the delivery of their IT infrastructure and service management outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to multiple project teams, including 3rd parties, to deliver solutions on time and within defined quality/scope.
- Manage the delivery of Network and Telephony services to meet their ongoing business requirements.
- Lead the outsourced team (vendors) to ensure that Network and Telephony services are operated to expected outcomes, including adherence to SLA's.
- Provide oversight of escalation, prioritisation, and drive stakeholder communication during critical events.
- Work collaboratively with teams and partners to demonstrate thought leadership and bring about new ways of working.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders recommending improvements to operational activities that will enhance service robustness and reliability.
**Required Skills & Specialisms**:
- Tertiary degree in Information Technology or Business.
- Extensive experience in successful performance management of external IT service providers.
- Extensive experience in the management of people and successful customer relationships.
- Demonstrable experience managing an outsourced IT vendor model.
- Demonstrated success in taking a continuous improvement approach to IT service Management in an outsourced environment.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of a broad range of Network and Telephony technologies such as:
- Firewalls
- Load Balancers
- SDWAN
- Data Centre Switching
- Hosted Unified Communications
- Cloud Connectivity
- Experience in successful performance management of external IT service providers specifically an outsourced IT vendor model.
- Understanding the concepts of virtualisation and cloud computing.
- A good understanding in taking a continuous improvement approach to IT Service Management in an outsourced environment.
- Understanding of emerging technologies / improvements so as to appropriately balance risk and enablement.
