The Senior Technician will troubleshoot hardware and software technical issues, maintain IT inventory records in the CMDB, and develop engaging Knowledge and How-To guides. The role provide expert advice, training, and guidance to leading researchers and academics, contributing to a positive and proactive IT support culture. The position provides highly specialised technology services in support of the universities research and learning and teaching endeavours. This includes the provision and support of high-end and bespoke teaching and research solutions that deliver innovative and cutting edge outcomes to QUT and the broader community. In this role, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex research and teaching solutions. You will oversee the management and optimisation of complex, high-performance equipment and vast data sets, ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency and reliability. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management will ensure the highest standards of service delivery and client satisfaction. The Senior Technician, Specialist Technology will also play a key role in supporting digital transformation initiatives and improving digital literacy across the university. By empowering staff and students to effectively use advanced digital tools, you will enhance their productivity and foster an environment of innovation.
