Thirrili is a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation, led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing. We support individuals, families and communities in the aftermath of suicide or unexpected fatal incidents to express their self-determination in their ways of bereavement and healing.
Role Description
We are seeking people for a number of full-time hybrid roles to deliver on-call support, service coordination and community capacity building through engagement, networking and sector stakeholder collaboration and partnership to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities bereaved or impacted by loss by suicide and other fatal incidents.
We are seeking applications for Indigenous Community Support Workers - These roles deliver on-call and support in communities across Western Australia. The candidate can live anywhere in Western Australia.
Qualifications
* Strong Culturally Safe and Responsive in trauma informed care and practice application.
* Proficient at working in (or leading and coordinating teams for more senior roles), working closely with diverse teams, and ability to work highly independently.
* Trauma informed and case management skills, including referral, intake, screening and assessment, support planning, case review and crisis support.
* Ability to travel frequently to regional and remote communities by car, off road and in light aircraft.
* Ability to work in a hybrid workforce model – WFH and remotely with a national team.
Essential Criteria
* Must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent.
* Experience in all aspects of case management, on call services, service supports coordination and community engagement activities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to achieve outcomes and mutual benefits.
* Understanding and experience in data collection, database management, and report writing skills.
* Experience in developing and implementing project plans.
