Lead Strategic Planner – Glenorchy City Council
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to join our passionate and forward-thinking Strategic Planning team at Glenorchy City Council. This parental leave position is a fixed-term, full-time role, giving a capable Lead Strategic Planner the opportunity to take the reins on a number of complex strategic planning matters until December ****.
About the role
You will have the opportunity to:
Lead and assess a wide range of planning scheme amendment requests and strategic land-use projects.
Apply your expertise in strategic planning and report writing.
Work collaboratively to deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
Assist, manage and mentor other team members as needed.
Build your career through exposure to a range of strategic planning projects.
What you'll bring to the role
Tertiary qualification in land-use planning or a related field (e.g. environmental design, architecture, geography).
Sound understanding of Tasmania's planning system, statutory and strategic planning processes.
Demonstrated experience in leading a team and handling complex planning matters, particularly planning scheme amendments.
Understanding of strategic planning issues and confidence in working with a range of stakeholders to achieve outcomes for the community.
Position details
Fixed term, full-time (76 hours fortnight) until December ****.
Salary: $****** to $*******.
