A specialised SEN school in Salisbury is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team
The Role
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) focused Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in providing the best support possible to students aged ***** years old.
This is an Alternative Provision setting for pupils unable to access mainstream education due to needs and diagnoses of the following:
Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Anxiety and behavioural challenges
Communication and social interaction difficulties
Often pupils have experienced disrupted education and require extensive support
Learning Environment
Small, nurturing classes designed for emotional regulation
Calm spaces for therapeutic interventions
Curriculum
Core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
Personal development and life skills
Vocational and enrichment activities to build confidence and resilience
Who We Are Looking For
SEMH experience in or out of an educational setting
Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
Understanding of challenging behaviours
Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Working Hours / Benefits
