Main duties of the job
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained by undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and checks of services.
You will apply basic fixes to equipment and systems to keep facilities fully functional, support new residents in arranging their rooms, and advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks.
Carrying out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work inside and outside the Home.
Supporting new residents to arrange their rooms as they wish.
Ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken to maintain the standards of the Home.
Advising on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
Providing out-of-hours emergency service and participating in the on-call rota.

About you
To be successful, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in everything you do.
Our ideal candidate must:
Have a minimum of one year's experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role, and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
Hold a full driving licence.
Have knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
Be able to adapt and be flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Required checks
ABDS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be paid by Avery Healthcare.
Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
