Viewpoint Café and Restaurant, a popular food destination in Waikerie, is seeking a full-time Chef to lead kitchen operations and deliver quality meals to our loyal customer base. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a salary between $70,000 – $80,000, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and develop seasonal and daily menus in consultation with management and kitchen team.
* Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency, flavour, and high standards.
* Estimate food and staffing costs, manage ordering and inventory to maintain efficiency and minimise waste.
* Guide and train kitchen staff, demonstrate advanced techniques, and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
* Liaise with floor staff and management to resolve food service issues and streamline workflow.
* Prepare meals for customers with specific dietary needs.
* Preserve ingredients through proper freezing and storage techniques.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen.
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery preferred.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
