Description The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Assistant to join our Sydney office on a 12-month FTC (parental leave contract). As a Business Development Assistant, you will support the APAC Business Development, Marketing and Communications team in delivering strategic initiatives that drive client growth and brand visibility. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a variety of projects and collaborate with stakeholders across Australia and the wider APAC region. Main duties Bids & Proposals: Assist in preparing bids, proposals, and capability statements Source and collate firm credentials, team CVs, and relevant experience Support bid tracking and reporting across the APAC region Client Development: Assist with client and relationship initiatives Support implementation of business development plans Conduct market research to identify new opportunities Marketing & Events: Coordinate and support firm events and webinars Assist in creating marketing materials and promotional content Contribute to social medial and thought leadership campaigns Content & Communications: Help prepare legal directory and award submissions Research and draft content relevant to our core sectors Maintain internal communications and intranet updates CRM & Admin Support: Maintain and update the firm’s CRM database Liaise with legal PAs to ensure lawyer CVs and credentials are current Provide general administrative support to the BD and Marketing team. About you To be successful in this role, you’ll be a goal driven, high performing individual with strong communication and digital skills, curiosity about law and business, and willingness to learn. You will also have: A qualification in business, marketing, communication, or related field Demonstrated ability to deliver projects end-to-end Excellent writing, editing, and document production skills A proactive, team-oriented mindset and attention to detail Strong digital skills and the ability to master different software, technology platforms and apps Event co-ordination experience – desirable Prior work experience in either a marketing agency, event management, not for profit, industry association or professional services environment Experience drafting proposals and/or client-facing marketing material – desirable.
