About the role
The College employs appropriately skilled and/or qualified Technicians in the mechanical, industrial, chemical and scientific training fields, to best support learning delivery and broader College outcomes. Technicians work as a team and are deployed across the campus to meet business needs. This position primarily supports the Automotive trade training area, which delivers Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, as well as a range of Certificate II pre-apprenticeship programs.
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will bring industry-specific expertise along with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a dynamic educational environment.

The role supports the Automotive trade training area and broader College outcomes by providing skilled technician support across campuses as required.

Other Conditions and Eligibility
Staff appointed to this role routinely undertake active outdoor and indoor work; work in environments that may contain dust and potential irritants and undertake manual handling, including lifting, bending and moving equipment.
Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.
To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
This selection process may be used to identify suitable applicants for similar vacancies that arise within the next twelve months.
SR TAFE has a shutdown period of up to 12 working days over Christmas/New Year. Arrangements for paid leave in advance or leave without pay during the shutdown period will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
