Job Description
Transport for NSW is looking for an experienced Accounting Professional to join the Accounting Operations team in Burwood, NSW. The role will focus on leading complex financial accounting activities, coordinating month‐end processes, managing general ledger operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.
* Work as part of the Accounting Operations team to manage complex financial accounting activities, including the coordination and communication of month‐end processes, Closing Cockpit activities, and stakeholder engagement.
* Act as second in charge to the Manager of Accounting Operations and take on leadership responsibilities when required.
* Deliver high‐quality financial accounting services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.
* Lead the investigation of data anomalies and perform root cause analysis to support timely resolution and accurate financial reporting.
* Lead general ledger accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing complex reconciliations and journals, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial data.
Qualifications
* Hold tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or a related discipline and be a full professional member of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, or an equivalent.
* Have experience in financial accounting and reporting in a large, complex organisation.
* Demonstrated experience with financial modelling and Power tools.
* Possess leadership skills and experience in managing and leading team performance outcomes.
* Show ability to build stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with both stakeholders and team members.
* Have exceptional communication skills and can present complex financial information clearly.
* Be inquisitive, enjoy learning new technologies, identify gaps in current processes and advise on improvements.
