The Client
This well-established engineering consultancy is known for delivering high-quality forensic investigations across Australia. About the Role
Reporting to the National Forensic Manager, this role will see you:
* Conduct forensic site investigations into damaged residential and commercial structures
* Analyse building failures, assess cause, and recommend rectification solutions
* Prepare accurate, well-structured forensic reports in clear and concise language
* Liaise directly with clients including insurers, loss adjusters, legal teams, and homeowners
* Assist with internal peer reviews and mentor junior engineers where required
* Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and agreed timeframes
* Maintain accurate job files, documentation, and timesheets in line with internal procedures
* Support business development through professional service delivery and client rapport
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus essential)
* Strong written communication and reporting skills
* Prior experience investigating structural distress or failure is desirable
* Background in structural design of residential or commercial buildings up to $20M (desirable)
* Ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations
* Confident verbal communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
* High level of professionalism and attention to quality and compliance
* Able to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
* Willingness to travel occasionally or work outside standard hours where needed
