An opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor/Trainer and Assessor to permanently join a civil and mining business operating in the Northwest of WA. The company is involved in road maintenance around the mine site and interested applicants would need to demonstrate previous experience working in a similar environment.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of HSE experience in mining or civil construction environments.
This is a FIFO from Perth or Busselton role with family friendly split rosters of 8 days on 6 days off.
Working within a small close-knit team this role would suit an organized, professional individual with a friendly approach and a positive can-do attitude. High attention to detail and forward planning is essential for this position.
Applicants must demonstrate previous experience in road maintenance and civil operations within mining environments.
Key role and responsibilities
* Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (HSEMS)
* Continuous improvement
* Administrator for HSE database
* Promote the effective and consistent application of HSE risk management practices throughout the organization.
* Facilitate/participate in risk assessments.
* Engage with leaders and employees in the field.
* Provide health, safety and environmental advice to leaders and all employees.
* Application of the HSMS
* Lead or participate in incident investigations.
* Maintain and develop Incident database.
* Co-ordinate legal obligations register(s)
* Conduct and/or co-ordinate audits and inspections.
* Develop reports highlighting non-compliances and opportunities for improvement.
* deliver HSE training and awareness programs
* Content development and delivery (eg. Inductions, training courses, toolbox talks)
* Internal/external reporting
* VOCs, assessment of competencies for machine operators and others in conjunction with SMEs.
Essential Qualifications
Diploma Qualifications in WHS minimum Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety
Australia C class motor vehicle license
Cert IV Training and Assessment (Must be current)
Current Cert IV Training and Assessment registration with a recognised RTO is required at the time of application.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO,14001, and ISO 45001
Knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent Time Management skills.
Must have the right to work in Australia, visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.
