About the Role
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a full‐time rostered basis.
The Mechanical Fitter's role consists of completing preventative maintenance tasks, rapid response to breakdowns and deeper level maintenance conducted in shutdown periods.
Duties will include:
* Identify safety hazards before commencing tasks and put controls in place to minimise risks.
* Identify opportunities for improvement encountered around site and report hazards to your supervisor.
* Preventative maintenance activity.
* Attend breakdowns to resolve mechanical issues to enable speedy resumption of production.
* Utilise production shutdown opportunities to perform maintenance on plant and equipment.
* Use trade skills to improve plant and equipment on projects as required.
* Use maintenance computer system to locate parts and maintenance manuals.
* Ensuring thorough record keeping through the maintenance management system.
* Project work from time to time installing new modern manufacturing equipment.
About you
* Trade certificate (Mechanical).
* Experience as a Mechanical Fitter conversant with industrial fixed plant.
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting aptitude.
* Excellent ability to learn new skills.
* Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good knowledge and experience with lubrication techniques.
Preferred qualifications (not essential)
* Experience with materials handling plant and equipment.
* Experience in manufacturing / milling fixed plant maintenance.
* Hydraulics maintenance experience.
* Basic welding skills.
* High risk work licence, EWP, confined space, working at heights, forklift licence.
