The Location

Welcome to Caboolture's heart of aged care. Supporting the local Caboolture community for over 70 years, Fernhill maintains the highest standards of safety, governance and oversight while providing residents with truly considered, contemporary aged care.


The Job

* Prepare ingredients for cooking where applicable.
* Prepare food items that don't require cooking (e.g., sandwiches and salads).
* Engage in a variety of trade‑level activities such as cooking, baking, butchering, pastry cooking and/or setting up an on‑site kitchen.
* Reheat food as required to prepare meals; freeze and preserve foods where appropriate.
* Portion, present and serve food and beverages to customers.
* Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.
* Use and maintain all kitchen equipment in an appropriate manner.
* Communicate with all staff, residents and visitors in a professional and customer‑focused manner.
* Report practices that may breach legislation, policies and procedures relating to safety and hygiene, or Bolton Clarke policies that may impact on service delivery or customers.


To be successful

* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
* Demonstrated minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen within aged care or hospital (preferable).
* Bulk cooking experience highly desirable.
* Experience with texture‑modified food advantageous.
* Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and co‑workers.
