Our client is a national contractor and one of Australia's largest private construction groups, working across all major sectors, including large‐scale commercial, education and health.
You will have the prospect to work across various streams of the business, where you will provide advice to the senior management team, commercial and project managers, bid managers, as well as clients, prospective clients and their respective legal representatives.
Working under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel, and also having contact with the General Counsel, this role will see you providing legal advice to various arms of the business.
Responsibilities
* Reviewing and advising on the terms of construction contracts
* Drafting and negotiating agreements
* Providing general corporate legal advice as well as ad hoc legal advice in relation to emerging project issues
* Reviewing and updating the company's precedent agreements and other legal documents
* Monitoring changes in the law
* From time to time, designing and delivering legal issue related training to staff
Requirements
* At least 4 years' post admission experience in front‐end construction
* Experience in either a reputable firm or an in‐house legal team
* Team player with valuable communication skills
* Cooperative, highly motivated and very organised
