**Official Visitor Role at Riverina Youth Justice Centre**
This is a targeted recruitment seeking a dedicated individual to serve as an Official Visitor at the Riverina Youth Justice Centre. As an Official Visitor, you will work closely with young people in custody, staff, and management to ensure their rights are protected and respected.
* The Inspector of Custodial Services (ICS) oversees the Official Visitor Program, working to resolve enquiries and complaints made by young people in custody.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain impartial and act with integrity. Cultural awareness, particularly in working with Aboriginal people and diverse backgrounds, is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Visit assigned centres regularly to speak with children and young people, staff, and management.
* Record and report on complaints, enquiries, and centre environments.
* Facilitate issue resolution at the local level where possible.
* Submit reports to relevant authorities.
Requirements:
* Basic computer literacy and access to email/internet.
* Ability and willingness to travel for training or corporate activities.
