Job Opportunity: Senior Mental Health Physician
This clinical leadership role presents a chance to work in Queensland's vast north-west region, providing specialist psychiatric knowledge and skills to support the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
You will be part of a leading public hospital, collaborating with an integrated mental health service, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug services team, and a homeless health outreach team to ensure patients receive appropriate and culturally safe care.
In this position, your responsibilities will include providing care to individuals living with mental health and associated substance use disorders, as well as offering clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be instrumental in overseeing and reviewing clinical governance, actively contributing to the education and training of junior medical staff, medical students, mental health clinicians, other health professionals, and key stakeholders.
Additionally, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives, uphold professional behavior standards, take part in the on-call roster, and ensure ongoing professional development.
You will work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a commitment to respectful and inclusive care are essential for effectively carrying out your duties.
