ZME is now hiring multiple Telecommunications Field Engineers - NBN Works to join our expanding team of nbn specialists .
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to lead a work-stream of delivery for NBN connections across Sydney, Regional NSW, and QLD.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to meet project goals.
* Assess scope of work and support installation and maintenance of wired line and wireless telecommunication networks (FTTx, 4G LTE, 5G).
* Support provisioning and device activation.
* Coordinate with teams for hardware, database, and communication system integration.
* Provide technical updates and maintain operational documentation.
* Coordinate variations and change requests with teams to meet client requirements.
* Liaise with field teams to ensure standards are met.
* Facilitate technical workshops and provide expert advice on network design, optimisation, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
* Assist with technical documentation, interpret drawings, review network diagrams, planning briefs, and as-built documents.
* Update BOQ/BOM based on field variations, ensuring inventory accuracy and cost control.
* Support monthly project reporting.
* Understand contractual obligations, KPIs, and customer needs.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience in telecommunication network construction and commissioning, including optical fibre installation, splicing, testing, and equipment installation.
* Understanding of pit and pipe installation and utility-type builds.
* Experience in telecommunication field network design and build.
* Preferred experience with nbn projects.
* Knowledge of wired and wireless technologies, including Copper/Fiber, FTTN, FTTB, FTTP, HFC, and wireless standards.
* Experience with large telecommunication infrastructure projects.
* Strong focus on asset owner requirements and compliance.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with teams and customers.
* Experience liaising with stakeholders.
* Process-oriented and outcome-focused.
* Strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills.
